Name: Richard Rahl

History or Personality:
Richard Cypher was raised a simple man in the town of Hartland in Westland. He knows almost all there is that can be learned about the forests and tracking thanks to his father. Though his life changed when Kahlan Amnell, a Confessor, crossed the boundary that separated Westland from the Midlands and the magic of the world. She came searching for the Seeker, a man prophecy says will bring an end to the evil ruler of D'Hara, Darken Rahl. And after finding one of the last remaining Wizards of the First Order Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, she found her Seeker. Richard. Zeddicus named Richard the True Seeker and presented him with the Sword of Truth, which gives him the ability to call forth the knowledge of all those who wielded the Sword of Truth before him, as well as turn his rage into power and strength while he wields the blade.

The three crossed the boundary after Richard's father was killed and his brother turned against him, traveling through the Midlands in search of a way to kill Darken Rahl. It's was a long journey, though the group finds out that the only way to defeat Rahl is to harness the power of the Boxes of Orden, three boxes of power that when combined gave a person the ability to control everyone in the world. However, the Power of Orden was double edged, taking over the person and ruling them instead of ruling it. It was learned through the book of counted shadows that the Power of Orden could be balanced by being confessed by a Confessor. But while trying to meld the two powers, Darken Rahl interrupted them and was consumed as the Power of Orden was destroyed.

Several weeks after Darken Rahl died a battalion of men that once served Darken Rahl came to Richard, claiming that he was the true heir to the Rahl throne because he was Darken Rahl's brother. Which, on top of dealing with the cracks in the world that let one fall straight into the Underworld and the Keeper's hands, was a lot to take in. As well, the town he was in had their children stolen by the Mord'Sith. After saving Cara, she helped him and the townspeople lay siege to the Mord'Sith tower to reclaim their children. Cara traveled with Richard, Zedd, and Kahlan after that, much to Zedd and Kahlan's arguments. As time progressed in their search for the Stone of Tears and a way to seal the rifts between their world and the Underworld they all grew closer. By the end, they were all friends. Richard, after several long fights in which he nearly died several times, they were able to use the stone to save the world and all was right with the land. Of course, now that the world is saved, in reality he should be turning his eyes on healing the lands and taking over Da'Hara as the new Lord Rahl. But instead he's ended up in Vegas.

Any special abilities:
- He's a skilled Woodsman
- He's an excellent fighter in his own right and his sword adds to his skill because it allows him to tap into the knowledge of the past Seekers.
- Rage fuels his powers when using the sword.
- Immune to Kahlan's Confessor power because he's already head over heels willing to do anything for her out of love.
- Because of being named the Seeker, he's better than average about knowing when people lie when he's in front of them and paying attention, though the strive for truth from others doesn't carry into his actions all the time.
